Sergei Prokofiev in New York City - 26 March, 1920
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 26 March 1920, page 491:
Linette came, and we went together to the concert by Fuleihan, a young Syrian* pianist and composer. There is no question that he has talent, but he thrashes the keys so hard it is impossible to hear anything. There are clear evocations of the East in his music, mixed in with all sorts of modernist ballast from yesteryear.
