Sergei Prokofiev in Paris - 22 May, 1920, in the afternoon
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 22 May 1920, page 516:
I arranged for the Diva* (although I am still cross with her) to meet Stravinsky so that he could give her a lesson on the singing of Pribaoutki. He also played his new songs, from a proof copy. They are very interesting; I did not expect them to be so good. Very Russian, and in places he plumbs the depths I so admire in The Rite of Spring, which I do not find in many of his things.
