Alexey Kal in Los Angeles - 25 December, 1920, at night

from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 25 December 1920, page 562:

Kal* appeared at noon with Ilya Tolstoy**, the son of the writer, and Nyushel, a wealthy and charming Russian Jew. We got on a bus and went to Nyushel's for lunch, staying until seven o'clock in the evening. After the letter 'ж' incident Kal said not a word about Ariadna***, and she herself did not appear yesterday either, although she had said she would. But when I played Tales of an Old Grandmother Kal, deeply moved, came to me and unobtrusively kissed my hand.
