Sergei Prokofiev in London - 11 June, 1921, at night
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 1 - 30 June 1921, page 608:
Before I went I had the opportunity to hear the first performance of Stravinsky's Symphonies for Wind Instruments conducted by Koussevitzky. I did not grasp it all, especially the passages of two-part poyphony. I must hear it again. But the monkish notion of writing just for winds does appeal to me.
