Sergei Prokofiev in Palais Garnier - 8 May, 1924, in the morning
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 8 May 1924, page 50:
General rehearsal. I felt vigorous and in control. We rehearsed with great diligence, but of course we really need another rehearsal, especially bearing in mind that Koussevitzky is not a particularly good accompanist. Honegger's Pacific is also having its first performance in the same concert, a marvellously orchestrated piece and a prime example of how something interesting can be made without any actual music.
