Sergei Prokofiev in Palais Garnier - 29 May, 1924, at night

from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 29 May 1924, page 60:

In the evening, Ptashka and I were in Koussevitzky's box, as were the Borovsky's, Debussy's widow, and later on Ravel. I was very nervous and could hardly bring myself to listen to the preceding works on the programme. It was unfortunately that the piece immediately before mine was an extremely noisy work by Florent Schmitt.
