In the evening, the Vienna Opera again, this time for Figaro, once again marvellously well done. Although less so than Die Entführung, it is also old-fashioned, the subject more than the music. One cannot get too excited about what they all get so steamed up about. Mme Newman was with us. Diaghilev came up, complaining of expiring from boredom.
