Sergei Prokofiev in Palais Garnier - 13 March, 1925, at night
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 13 March 1925, page 144:
Public full dress rehearsal. Scene two very demoniacal, Chelio and Fata beautifully lit. The Prologue was stylised, there ought to be more of a fight. The Monsters' Battle was not very good and neither, because of Fata Morgana, was the penultimate scene. But overall it raced along far better than Chicago, where Coini's stupic obstinacy spoiled everything.
