I was last night at Lady Lucan’s to hear the Misses Bingham sing Jomelli’s ‘Miserere,’ set for two voices. There were only the Duchess of Bedford, Lady Bute, Mrs. Walsingham, the Brudenels, Keenes, Lord Macartney, George Selwyn, Mr. Jerningham, and half a dozen Irish. The service lasted near three hours, and was so dull, instead of pathetic, that I was rejoiced that the worst was over, and the two women had left the sepulchre.
