Thomas Moore in Paris - 17 December, 1819

from Diary of Thomas Moore, 17 December 1819, page 90:

Went early to the Opera: that most trumpery thing, “Le Rossignol;” but the ballet of “Nina” made up for it. Bigottini very touching in this character, and some of the music full of pathos.
