In the evening listened to Mrs. V[illamil] singing, with her sweet voice, some of the wild, and melancholy songs of her country. She sang also a bolero of her own, which is full of character.

During the summer of 1820, Moore and his family lived in a cottage in the grounds of La Butte Coaslin, the country home of his friends the Villamils, at Sèvres.
