This morning betwixt 8 and 9 o’clock I left York, my mother went in the stage coach I on horseback, at Weighton, where we dined, called to see Mr Hudson’s organ, which is a very fine one, 7 stops, it only cost him £25. Vastly cheap. He played very well upon it, as did also Master Allott and sung an Italian song very finely, I played a little upon it. I saw also an harpsichord of Mr Hudsons own making, not a very good one.
