Went to the theatre to try and get a dress for Lady Darnley’s fancy ball in the evening. Connor (the Irish actor) took me to his house and provided me with an old English or Spanish dress (old in every sense of the word) which his wife had worn in “Floranthe.” Heard a few sweet notes from Miss Stephens, who was rehearsing. |
