I met […] Prince William, the other night, at a very elegant party at Lady Dering’s, and was introduced to him. A young girl told me, that he had been asking her questions about me and my birth, parentage, &c., with all the curiosity of the royal family. I was obliged that night to sing every one of my songs twice. The day before yesterday I was at a splendid déjeuner of Sir John Coghill’s: we had charming music. I sang several things with Lord Dudley and Miss Cramer (sister to Sir J. Coghill).
