After dinner we went to the Carnegie Hall to hear the Zimro concert at which my Hebrew Overture was to be played. The concert was long and not terribly interesting, the Overture was the last number on the programme. It had a tremendous success and twice I had to stand up in the box and take a bow. I like taking a bow from a box: everyone in the audience turns around and fidgets about in their seats. |
