In the evening I attended a rehearsal of a Spanish choir. It was very interesting. Perhaps I should write a sonata for wordless choir? Especially if it has a lot of staccato and if I succeed in getting an instrmental colour into the vocal sonorities. The choir director suggested that he could send a telegram to Madrid asking for me to be invited there in May for a series of concerts. I should love to go to Spain, where I have heard there is a burgeoning musical life. The musicians I have spoken to who have been there are in love with it.
