The Beethoven Quartet, that wonderful ensemble which has made such a contribution to the development of Soviet music, is forty years old. / Their great artistic skills and enthusiasm in popularising Soviet music have inspired many composers over the years to write new chamber works. Personally I have always derived great pleasure from my working association with these talented musicians, and am sincerely grateful for the mastery they have shown in performing my works.
