Tired, I went home, had lunch, and went to the dentist. But the dentist was ill and had gone to the doctor, so the session was cancelled. I did not want to go back home, as the weather was good, so I continued on to the Conservatoire to listen to the singing exam. In fact I was quite keen to hear some of my friends who were graduating, and sat through all the performances. Damskaya* played me my Prelude on the harp; it sounds much as I envisaged it, but she did not play well. I played it to her on the piano to illustrate how I wanted it; she showed enthusiasm and promised to learn ito play it as it should be played.
