The concert was not flawless from the point of view of the orchestra, and on one occasion it actually knocked me off course. I played well, and with incredible composure even when I played wrong notes, because the musicians of Kiev had already given me their seal of approval and for the rest there would be no one able to criticise details. It was a great success, although less vociferous than for Ala in Petrograd. |
