Go out to dinner with Bridges & then with Mrs. B. go to Adolf Busch, & Rudolf Serkin conc. at Wigmore hall - all 3 Brahms. Put & Vln Son.* B. is technically perfect - except for a curious inability to play a phrase legato, & Serkin is wonderful. But there was a lack of subtlety about Busch, & the interpretation left much to be desired, I felt - annoyingly so. The ensemble was perfect (except for 1 disagreement in phrasing of a mov. - op. 108 - mov. 3 - (little beauty)
