Yuryevskaya came and sang the songs she had chosen. So far, of course, they are only in rough. She has a nice lyric timbre, but is rpactically inaudible when singing piano. She had much to tell me about her time at the Mariinsky Theatre during the Bolshevik regime, mentioning many familiar names. Marusya Pavlova had also been in the Mariinsky company, but was not singing leading roles. |
