A half-hour with tapes of Leslie Bassett. The three pieces seem directionless. I keep waiting for IT to happen - IT being generally a point of theatricality, but in this case a moment of reflection amidst the fustian. Festooned with bombastic percussion, it's all decoration (as distinct from decorative), loud remplissage with no melodic distinction amongst those augmented triad chords.
