At seven o'clock I went to dine with Saburov, who has obviously taken a great fancy to me. The only other person present was his son. The old man played Henselt's transcription of Coriolan, a very good overture, an excellent transcription, and for a seventy-five-year-old player a very powerful performance indeed. |
