In Paris the people I saw most of, besides Larionov and Goncharova, were the Stahls and Samoilenko. They are all very close friends. Among the musicians I saw a great deal of Schloezer, who is working on an article about me, and Prunières, a very cultivated Frenchman and publisher of the excellent music journal La Revue musicale. I heard music by Poulenc and Milhaud (members of 'Les Six') in which the occasional interesting idea disappears into an abyss of bad taste. |
