The prices at the theatre, on the nights Catalani performed, were raised to half 
a guinea for the pit and boxes, and five shillings for the gallery. At the
piano-forte sat my old, revered, and first teacher, Dr. Cogan. Madame Catalan!
was received, and hailed by the Irish audience, with rapturous applause. She sang
divinely, both in the serious and comic operas. I always acted with her, and had
a hearty reception from my generous countrymen.
