Diary entry 23rd February 1732 From dinner I went to the Music Club, where the King’s Chapel boys acted the History of Hester, writ by Pope, and composed by Hendel. This oratoria or religious opera is exceeding fine, and the company were highly pleased, some of the parts being well performed. |
