The Teheran recital took place in the Farhang Hall – they chose the most ‘classical’ of the several programmes I offered – three Bach preludes and fugues from the second book, the Mozart Fantasy and Sonata in C minor, and two Beethoven sonatas including the little-known opus 54 – and the audience, probably as cosmopolitan as the Egyptian ones, liked this fare as much as it pleased me to give it to them. |
