The second of the two Altschuler concerts. I am growing tired, both physically and metaphorically, of concerts, even though they are all premieres. There were fewer people than yesterday. The Third Sonata was well received, the smaller pieces less so, which rather lowered my spirits for the next work, which was my conducting of the 'Classical' Symphony. Although this lacked some of the transparency it needs, it was still quite well played, and despite being the last item of the programme had a good success. Altogether I was called back to the platform seven times (3+2+2). |
