The first rehearsal of the Piano Concerto No. 3 was a long one, with two-and-a-half hours rehearsal devtoed to it. That's how they work in the provinces!! The conductor was young but very committed. His tastes lean to the conservative, but when he went to Brussels to hear the performance of the Scythian Suite he had come back wildly enthused, so he is not making great efforts. |
