I have not been into the small orchestra class for some time, but today I came in to conduct Bach's Passacaglia. The orchestra had forgotten what they ever knew about the piece, and conducting it was torture. All the same, Tcherepnin is proposing that the orchestra should appear in a concert on 22 November, and that the Passacaglia should also be played in its original form on the organ by a student from the organ class. This will be very interesting. |
