Building on the success of the Allcomers Band in the summer, Ken Burton led a two-hour workshop introducing the repertoire and techniques of gospel music as part of the Concerts by Candlelight Series. The workshop was fully booked and attracted approximately 42 new people to the Festival. Participants seemed to thoroughly enjoy the evening and were prepared to take risks such as improvising in small groups, scattered throughout Christ Church. The sound of 70 people singing to Ken’s exhilarating piano accompaniment was a highlight of Concerts by Candlelight. |
