In the afternoon there was supposed to have been a rehearsal with the ballet dancers, but as some of them have been called for a rehearsal of Salome, ours could not take place. I saw the end of Salome, and although I know the story well I still found it terrifying. The music does seem to heighten the effect, but I need to listen to the whole of the opera. I have the impression it is too long.
