In the afternoon I went in to Iretskaya's class exam, and felt myself quite the hero of the hour, although there was nothing especially interesting about any of the performances. Dranishnikov and I sat together. Golubovskaya was playing the accompaniment with her usual musicianship. I was critical of the tempo she took for the aria from Kashchey, at which she was inclined to take offence, but all was smoothed over and harmony restored. Nearonova squeaked, but Morenschild sang very well. |
