In the evening Max and I went to the student concert. We missed Nelli Frantsis's performance, but saw her afterwards surrounded by friends. The only word to describe Vera Alpers's playing is awful. Seryozha Alpers was not bad. I approached their parents with praise for Seryozha without paying any attention to Verochka, but when Madame opened her mouth to say something and began, 'Sergey Sergeyevich...' I briskly went over to the door, and saying good night, disappeared. |
