[Letter dated 29 June 2005] I am so glad you pressed me to try and come to ‘On Spital Fields.’ Even though, sadly, I had to leave before the end, I hugely enjoyed what I heard and saw and the whole thing was a triumphant endeavour. I think Jonathan Dove and Alasdair Middleton have produced wonderful music and words and the whole thing came together in a most moving way. Do please pass on my congratulations to all concerned.
