The Englishman has an excellent library of modern music. I did not compose today, but played Reger, Roger, Ravel, Medtner, which gave me great pleasure. Despite the noisy réclame of modernism, all this music is harmonious, admirably done and pleasant to the ear. But it is not profound. My music is better. |
