Susan Tomes - mid 20th Century
from Sandor Végh and György Sebök - a Tribute to their Teaching, page 134:
He was talking one day about the eminent pianist Clara Haskil, how he heard her play a Mozart concerto on the radio and had the strange impression that he was listening to Mozart himself playing the piano. It was as though Clara Haskil has disappeared and that no human intermediary was coming between Sebök and Mozart.
