The tall man [Richard Hageman] took his coat off, revealing a full dress. “What are we playing tonight?” he asked with an engaging smile. I handed him a brief case full of music. Piatigorsky had called Otto Schufold to play with him, but he was not in town and he was without accompanist. The local manager told that there Richard Hageman, an American composer, was willing to accompany him.
