Patrick Delany et al. in London - 13 March, 1744

from The Autobiography and Correspondence of Mary Granville, Mrs. Delany, Series 1, Volume 2, page 282:

Letter from Mrs. Delany to Mrs. Dewes, at Calwich, Clarges Street, 15 March, 1743-4 - We went together last night to Joseph. 'Twas the last night, and I think I prefer it to every thing he has made, except the Messiah. I have collected the oratorio for him out of Milton's Paradise Lost, which I hope will do.
