Benjamin Britten in London - 31 May, 1932
from Journeying boy : the diaries of the young Benjamin Britten 1928-1938, page 106:
Lauricella & Richards come in aft. We practise my Phantasy Scherzo all time. Listen to Act, I of Mastersingers on wireless after dinner.* What struck me most is what little attention anyone paid to the written music. Beckmesser v. good - Habich; & Schorr as Sachs & Lehman as Eva - what little I heard of them.
