Jo Jones reminds me of the wind. He has more class than any drummer I've ever heard and has been an influence on me ever since. I first heard him with Basie. Man, he could drive that band! With Jo there's none of that damn raucous tom-tom beating or riveting-machine stuff. Jo makes sense.
