Benjamin Britten in London - 25 July, 1933
from Journeying boy : the diaries of the young Benjamin Britten 1928-1938, page 146:
F.B. conducts a Symphony Conct at Waterloo Studio (no. 10) of B.B.C. at 9.35. Dvovak (in Der Natur). Debussy (L'Après Midi). His own very brilliant Dance poem (v. orig since written (& hissed in 1913) & Schumann (4th Symph.).* Everything is thoroughly thought out & done in the right & only way. Orch. always plays much better under F.B. than any one.
