Benjamin Britten in London - 31 January, 1934

from Journeying boy : the diaries of the young Benjamin Britten 1928-1938, page 198:

Go with F.B. to B.B.C. Symphony concert at 8.15. Bruno Walter conducting - v. disappointing. Mozart G min. & Brahms E min. Unintelligent on whole - & orchestra rather poor. Prokofiev plays (apparently brilliantly) his new 5th Concerto. I don't want it.
