Benjamin Britten in London - 29 June, 1934
from Journeying boy : the diaries of the young Benjamin Britten 1928-1938, pages 215-216:
Show at 9.0 - Contemporary Concert. Van Dieran (v. long) - Lucas Partita (welcome after the V.D. but not much in itself, - tho' Sarabande is quite lovely.) & my Sinfonietta - which the orchestra plays quite well, considering all.* Quite well received. Personally I am bucked with it.
