Charles Coleman et al. in Lowestoft - 16 January, 1935
from Journeying boy : the diaries of the young Benjamin Britten 1928-1938, page 243:
Charles Coleman takes me over to Bungay rehearsal at 5.30. Owing to Fog very few are there - 9 only - and the playing is execrable. It is no use trying to rehearse them - the only advice worth giving them is 'Go away & learn to play your instruments'.
