Sylvia Townsend Warner - 22 June, 1952
from The diaries of Sylvia Townsend Warner, page 189:
I spent the afternoon playing Bach & Mozart - and got nearer than ever before to that enigmatical slow movement of A.mi. No one else is so gratifying to play. No other composer so loves his performers, even his bad ones.
