Charles Burney in Naples - 5 November, 1770
from Music, men and manners in France and Italy, 1770 / Charles Burney, page 195:
The dinner at Mrs. H-ltons was very comfortable as the company was select. After dinner came a fat friar to sing buffo songs – and Nasci to accompany him and to play some of his own music. Both were excellent, the former in humour and the latter in a graceful and easy manner of playing the violin.
