Notes
J. Lloyd Williams' early diaries sometimes give great detail about the music he hears; however, such entries are often made in great haste with numerous abbreviations and poor script complicating their transcription. This is amongst the clearer examples, which combines raw description with his private critique of the performers and his response to the music.
