Dr William Plumer Jacobs in Charleston - 4 January, 1860

from Diary of William Plumer Jacobs, page 57:

I attended yesterday a meeting of the [Y.M.C.A.] School of Sacred Music under the professorship of Professor Robinson. I expect some of these days to be able to sing and if I do I will be a tenor-vocalist. Cousin Kate is very anxious for me to learn to sing.
