Then, in 1920, I heard Pierrot in Paris, conducted by Darius Milhaud and quasi-sung by Marya Freund. After that, incredibly, I did not hear another note by Schoenberg until the Suite, op. 29, in Venice in 1937 and the Prelude to Genesis in Hollywood in November 1945.
